Meet Kerry Booth, winner of Ireland Writing Retreat January draw

We welcome Kerry Booth, a new friend of Ireland Writing Retreat and winner of our January draw – an excellent Irish music CD entitled “The Collection” by Irish musician and song-writer, Donegal-based Pat Gallager.

Born and raised in Colorado, 48 year-old Kerry works as a Document Control Analyst for the Regional Transportation District, RTD, a government-assisted mass transit company. He studied at the University of Colorado (Go Buffs!) and "enjoys cycling around town, reading, and movies."

“I'm trying to read more translations and non-fiction,” said Kerry, “but I tend to stay with literary fiction and short stories (anthologies as well as collections). I really admire Tobias Wolff, Jess Walter, and Richard Bausch.”

Having visited Ireland for two weeks about ten years ago Kerry traveled to Dublin, Killarney, and Galway but not yet Donegal, so 2016 seems like the perfect time to come back to the Emerald Isle.

“I discovered a podcast put out by a man named Mark Gunn called Irish and Celtic Music. It is amazing. I loved Irish music before, but this podcast has really opened me up to the entire world of Irish music.

Can't wait to listen to Pat's CD.”

Become a friend of 'Ireland Writing Retreat' on or before Thursday March 31st 2016 and automatically enter a draw to win an intriguing thriller novel signed by the author himself. See more here.
