Lead writing coach, author and former foreign newspaper correspondent, Sean Hillen, will share with you some of his writing lessons he has learned over forty years working in the craft of words in both international journalism and novel and memoir writing, including this story, 'Finding Nature Right Before Your Very Eyes.'
Retreat co-founder and Master Medical Herbalist, Columbia Hillen, will lead you through a sensorial journey to delve deeper into memories and feelings with the help of plants from her garden, as described in this story 'Unique Sensorial Writing Workshop Hosted By Master Medical Herbalist.'
Other surprise guest speakers and authors will also voice their views on publishing and provide practical writing guidance.

WHEN - April 12-18, 2027
WHERE - The majestic Pyrénées Orientales region of southwest France in the rich, rolling wine country of French Catalonia, an hour’s drive from the Spanish border. Accommodation in single, ensuite rooms with breakfast at the stunning, century-old chateau Villa Lafabregue with clear views over Canigou, the soaring sacred mountain of the Catalan people.
WHAT - A blend of practical writing workshops on both fiction and non-fiction including character development, memoir and dialogue, with hands-on story critiques (including participants’ own works-in-progress). Plus guided cultural excursions of the region including visits to lively markets, exclusive evening dance and music performances (some in traditional Catalan costumes) and local wine and food tastings.

WHERE - Donegal, the most northerly region of Ireland, known as the 'Forgotten Land of Faeries,’ at a Ostan Loch Altan, a charming hotel on the 'Wild Atlantic Way,' where all participants stay together in single rooms.
Only a few minutes walk from coastal coves and soft sandy beaches, this oceanside part of Ireland is well-known for its traditional music, ancient historic sites, straw-thatched cottages, castles and, of course, faeries and intriguing legends from Celtic mythology.
